30-Day Writing Plan: Day 4, Sun

151.01 million kilometres, that's the distance keeping you and I alive. A little too close and we become a burning mess, a little too far and numbing cold dawns over us. Stare at it a little too long, black spots hinders your vision. Without it, you face a dark world, devoid of light, can't even see your own hands. Despite what the Greeks thought, we revolve around this glowing orb of flames. We can't live without it, yet too much of it and we suddenly live in a dystopian novel. It is truly remarkable how this perfect set of circumstances took place for life to occur on our minuscule planet.

The perfect distance, the perfect orbit, everything lined up nicely for life to bloom. Who knows, maybe out in the vast unknown, there are other creatures, looking at their very own glowing orb up in the their sky.
